This year's Hmong new year is going to be so fun! I will be having my family over this year! I love October in La Crosse because first comes Oktoberfest, then the Hmong new year celebration! I can't wait to go and pig out at the new year; I get to eat papaya salad, chicken, pork, mangoes, all sorts of food and lots of fruits will be sold! I also CANNOT wait to buy a new pair of Hmong clothes, or at least buy the fabric so that I can sew it myself (yes I know how to sew). I also love to see the performances at the celebration! Every year gets more exciting for me because every year is always different.
People always ask me, "Do you have to be Hmong to go?" My answer is, "when you guys celebrate new years eve, do you have to be white?" YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE HMONG TO GO! If it sounds fun, then go! But... I will say that there is like a 15 dollar fee for ONE car to get in. I will also give out tours at the new year if people ask. UWL Hmong students do so too! I hope that whoever wants to know more information will ask me, because I DON'T BITE(*HAHA*). Well, I hope to see some of you guys there!
More information about the location and time is at the bottom of my blog...

Hi Baobie,
I hope you had a GREAT Day on Sat for the Hmong New Year. It sounds so delicious the description of the fruit and foods. I hope you are feeling better and that you could have fun at the celebration. Hope you survived the babysitting for your sisters kids, better yet I hope your sister appreciated you being there for her to watch her children. You sound like a very laid back and patient, but fun person. Take care and see you tomorow in class. Bye for now.
