Up --> down: my mother and my nephew Kadin, My oldest brother Nhia, my second oldest brother Tong and his girlfriend Allyce, my third brother Chong, my fourth brother Hu, my nephew, and his girlfriend Lisa, my fifth brother Paul(Pao), and my two sisters Xeng(Mao) and Jenny.

I love seeing my family, especially my nephew. I don't feel at home living with my in-laws; maybe that's because they aren't as close to each other like my family. I am so close to my sisters and brothers that I pity my husband's family. Him and his siblings don't talk that often, so I feel awkward talking to his brothers. His sisters are easier to talk to because they are girls. One of his sisters is also my age, so I don't feel too weird talking to her.
So I went to visit my mom and my siblings this past weekend (Dec. 4-6). I felt so at home, I didn't want to come back! I love it when I go back to visit because my mom always cancels her plans with other people to spend time with my sisters and I, while my brothers hang out with my husband. I also love visiting my family because they talk a lot and I live in a VERY quiet house of six people.
I love seeing my nephew when I go visit. He's so funny because he calls me "Hmong lady" because his mother is white and he doesn't really know me. Imagine your three year old nephew calling you "hey lady." I guess I'm okay with him calling me that although he does call me Aunty Bao sometimes. What really amazes me is that he always wants to stay at Grandma's (my mother) house all the time.
Talk is a big issue in my family. If you were one of my siblings and you didn't talk, my other siblings would think you were adopted or weird. My family is probably one of the most open families on Earth. We share anything and everything to each other.
While I went to visit my family, I got all my Christmas shopping done! My in-laws don't celebrate Christmas, so I had to buy myself a present and put it under the tree. I have to say thanks to my sister because she helped me choose the presents for my in-laws. I think I might go and stay with my family over break just to have some time to myself. It might me a little mean to leave my husband alone for a month, but I believe that a person needs time to themselves once in a while. I also need time to myself because I've been washing dishes, cooking, cleaning, and looking after my brother-in-laws for three years constantly. I'm kind of sick and tired of doing the "wifey" chores, so I decided that I'm going to go and stay with my family for a month or so....

wow talk about a crazy family, but at least you are all so close and you can talk just about anything.
Hi Baobie, wow you have a lot of family members and they are nice looking too. I agree with you when you say a person needs time themselves. Go and enjoy your break because you know it will be crazy when college starts again. Take care and God Bless You!:)
